Energy Transition: Online Maps to Plan the Development of Renewables in Italy

GSE has launched two key tools for Regions, Autonomous Provinces, and industry operators:

• Suitable Areas Platform (PAI)
• Acceleration Zones Map

Thanks to updated data and an integrated territorial vision, it will be easier to identify where to install new renewable energy plants and to speed up the authorization processes.
With the new Infrastructure Decree, industrial areas also become acceleration zones — a concrete step to expand installation potential and simplify procedures.
However, there is still the issue of the recent rejection by the Regional Administrative Court (TAR), which called for more precise and shared criteria to classify suitable areas. The Government has announced discussions with the Regions to overcome the deadlock.
